UK Olympics

This is a blog, a fan site if you will.

When I set out, the intention was for it to be a commentary on the process leading up to the 2012 Olympic bid, with the hope, now realised, that London would be victorious.

There is now, writing in late 2005, a lengthy period of development leading up to the 2012 Games, and whilst no one expects problems, we will continue to report on the ups and downs of the extensive construction and planning process that is to come.

In the meantime there will be two Winter Olympics and a Summer Games and I foresee that coverage of these and analysis of how Great Britain fares, will play a major part in the occasional reportage you will find here.

To reflect this widening of scope (and to avoid any run in with the Olympic organisation or London 2012 over the use of their trade marks), I am changing the name of the site. OK, so it is not a catchy, but there you go. (Of course if you are reading this and visiting for the first time, it’s a great name - isn’t it)
